George Zimmerman is worried as his murder trial draws to a close. Zimmerman is facing a possible conviction for the 2012 murder of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin. If convicted of that charge he could be sentenced to 25 years to life.

Closing arguments are set to start at 1 p.m. EST on Thursday, when Martin’s family attorney Bernie De La Rionda will deliver his closing arguments.

The defendant has claimed that the incident was in self-defense.

Zimmerman's lawyer Don West objected to any lesser charges being included in the judge's instructions to the jury.

West said that the stated charged him with second degree murder so they should be able to prove it.

Prosecutor Rich Mantei also sought to have the jury consider a third degree murder charge on child abuse. However, the judge Debra Nelson rejected his argument.

West said that this “case could not get any more bizarre” and that it was a “trick,” word that the judge asked him stop using it again.

According to the lead defense attorney Mark O’Mara, Zimmerman is concerned that even if he is acquitted, he would spend the rest of his life locked in a security regimen.

“Because those same people who portended the fear and hatred leading up to this trial probably are not going to accept an acquittal,” he said, according to ABC News.

Trayvon Martin’s parents are did not confirm if they will be in court as the verdict is read.
